Assign a link to Text

I was surprised to see I could not highlight some text and assign a link to it today. This seems basic. Is there a way to link text to a link? Thanks

If you have copied the URL:

  • Select the text you want to link
  • “paste” with cmd-v or the relevant keyboard shortcut on your system

That should turn the selected text into a markdown link for you.
