A way to have pages stay somewhat close together without directly linking them would be a nice way to organize cluttered graphs that have related pages that don’t need to be directly linked. My current graph has whiteboards acting as groups of related characters that are all related to a place, combined with page links acting as actual character connections makes the graph messy. Just hiding the whiteboard nodes (which isn’t possible as far as I know) wouldn’t fix the problem either.
For example: I have 7 characters that are related to a Law Firm or something, not all of them know each other so most of them are directly connected to the Law Firm node. It looks fine because there’s not a lot of pages. Another whiteboard node for a News Crew that has 23 character pages, most of which have connections between them. Since they’re all connected to the News Crew node it makes their section of the graph very bad looking and confusing. Some characters between these groups also have connections which makes the problem so much worse.
If I were to get rid of the whiteboards acting as groups, they’d all be free floating which would make the graph disorganized instead of cluttered. So perhaps a toggle that would group together pages with a certain tag instead of needing to make connections between them? Or a way to make links invisible? It wouldn’t be super useful for everyone but I think it would be a good addition.
