Can I change the command key from slash?

I use / often in actual text so it’s inconvenient to have it trigger the slash commands. I’d rather use \ or ` or just generally be able to configure the choice myself such as CMD-/. Is this possible?

I’ve been trying to figure this out, without success. This matters also because on some keyboards / is not easily accessible (you need to press shift+7 to get a backslash on Italian keyboards). Making it possible to switch the key to \ or something else would really be great. Is there really no way to do this?

I think it’s a great idea, since \ is rarely used, and yet it’s within pinky finger’s reach.
