Can I set the number for recent pages? And how?
12 pages are currently displayed under “RECENT”, I want to see more of them.

You currently can get up to 15 recent unique pages in the recent section. It is not configurable at this time.
I have submitted a feature request for this Add config to set/change the number of recent page
