Take a look at this use case:

  • 2190 markdown files (6.73 MB size)
  • largest file is 51.2 KB

It almost crashes the U.I.

My disk activity was none (you can see the empty progress bars). The vast majority of my logical processors barely doing any work, except for one brave hero. I have really high hopes for a database approach. I estimate my database will grow to maybe ~5GB.

I’m super excited to explore the data through the graph, the calendar, the links.

Welcome. The Graph View is seriously under-developed. It is still possible to use it in meaningful ways, but it takes effort. If exploring the data is your primary goal, should look elsewhere, until the Graph View receives some needed rework (not currently a priority).
