Greetings from Los Angeles! πŸ‘‹πŸ»

Hello, my fellow Personal Knowledge Managers! :raising_hand_man:t2:

Who am I?

My name is John.
I live in Southern California. (yes, the weather is really nice here) :sunny:
I’m a software maker by trade; mostly programming, but have dabbled in design, UX, product development. :technologist:

Why am I here?

I’ve been attempting to work my own low-tech Zettlekasten-style note-taking system, but had challenges:

  • too hard to break notes down into ideas (so to link to other ideas);
  • too hard to find stuff I had put in. :male_detective:

A friend of mine introduced me to Logseq. :raised_hands:

I just got started… literally yesterday. But I’m committed.

What I  about Logseq, so far…

  • the block-is-the-datum and two-way linking nails it :brain:
  • found plugins to make it feel at home, immediately
  • visually appealing

:now: I’m leveling-up in the tool as a user.
:later: I aspire to contribute to the project, some day (soon?!?!) :

Cheers!

  • John (aka β€œjtigger”)

p.s. FWIW plugins I’m enjoying:

  • Solarized theme
  • Move Block (helps with extracting sets of blocks to another page, quickly.
  • Tabs (helps with toggling quickly between pages)
  • Mermaid (because I want to draw pictures using text and GitHub renders Mermaid in .md files)
