Having assets together with pages like Obsidian

Hi, a LogSeq novice here. I am coming from Obsidian (and other note taking tools), and wondering if and why placing assets separately from pages is better.

What I like about having files together with pages, is that a folder is self contained. I can move it out of my vault (store/graph) or into it just by working in my OS file browser.
I can also freely put new files in my file browser to exact location where I want them, and in Obsidian I can immediately open them without need to link from a certain page. I find this wonderful.

Can I have something similar in LogSeq? I does not seem so, LogSeq obviously has this pattern to have assets located separately and I am wondering what benefit it brings.

Is the main thing here that you can easily move files INTO the obsidian directory and then access them from within obsidian?

Would a potential solution be to have better access to existing assets (in the asset dir) in the Logseq UI?

The main point is that I can browse my notes freely in filesystem and it has transparent structure. I can modify hierarchy with subfolders in file browsers, and Obsidian just reflects that. Also you could Obsidian as an intelligent filesystem browser that does not dictate the structure.

So I am wondering, if there could be a switch to have assets next to files in LogSeq. I realize it would be a significant architecture change though.

This feature has been requested for a long time by many users and seems to be ignored for the time being because the devs work on the database version of the app.
