Is there any way to rename a page while letting the old name as an alias?

This would be a nice feature!

When I am writing a survey of some topics, I always write the abbreviation of something first in this survey page.

Later, I will click into the abbreviation page and rename it to its full name.

However, I don’t want to change the occurrence of the thing in my survey page!

It would be great if we can allow the user to “swap the name and alias” or so. Thank for this great app!!

There is a hacky way to do that: you need to rename the underlying MD file first. Then you can add the alias to the original abbreviated name in the app itself under the renamed MD file.

Just a quick note to say @gestaltist idea works. What I did was:

  1. go to “Page Name A” and add alias:: Page Name A
  2. Exit Logseq and rename the file to the new name ie. “Page Name B”
  3. go back into Logseq and re-index. You don’t have to re-index but it might display a little weird.
