Logseq Linux Unofficial FAQ

This will be a space where regular questions from the Discord and forums about Linux will go. If you have any suggestions, please send me a pm. Thanks!

Where can I download Logseq? What’s the best way to install Logseq? Is the flatpak/snap/appimage official?

You can download an appimage directly from the logseq website: https://logseq.com/. A flatpak from the Logseq team is available on flathub: https://flathub.org/en/apps/com.logseq.Logseq. An unofficial snap is available here: Install Logseq on Linux | Snap Store.

There are no reported advantages or disadvantages to these installation methods. The flatpak and snap versions will update automatically, this may require additional configuration for the appimage.

Logseq isn’t working on aarch64

The aarch64 releases of Logseq are reported by many users to crash. As an alternative, it is possible to use the (currently in alpha) pre-release of the upcoming overhaul of Logseq: logseqdb. More information on obtaining logseqdb can be found here: GitHub - logseq/logseq: A privacy-first, open-source platform for knowledge management and collaboration. Download link: http://github.com/logseq/logseq/releases. roadmap: http://trello.com/b/8txSM12G/roadmap. Warning: Logseqdb is still in alpha and there remain bugs to iron out. If you choose to use logseqdb, make regular backups to prevent data loss.

Love the idea of a ‘Logseq Linux’ area. Just saw you’re planning on incorporating the Discord discussions too. Great! I often find myself wondering which site to go to. There’s only so much time in the day. Discord seems to be more active but it’s easier to isolate topics in a traditional forum. Oh well. Good work in setting this up!
