I don’t carry my laptop around with me, but I do need to capture my thoughts. As my mobile phone is always with me it makes sense to try using LogSeq. This is a brief summary of my experience using LogSeq solely on mobile, without any prior experience on the desktop version.
Firstly, the good:
- Multimedia data capture. This works very well. It’s the data capture app I need, wherever and whenever I need it.
- Workflow: inherited from the desktop app, seems solid and I love not having to file everything.
Secondly, needs work:
- Navigation. This is awful. I can’t reliably predict how my taps will be interpreted. Actions range from duplication of existing text to opening a URL. For days I was unable to view bullet points or create new ones. Where had my outliner gone?
- Onboarding, or rather, its absence. I eventually found a video that walked through some essential points, enabling me to make sense of the mess and clean it up. Thank you, Alan Young: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpUGBLwj9PY
