To answer your question, there have been 3 improvements in my opinion: RTC (sync), the CLI and the plugin system are just weeks away from leaving alpha and going into beta! The rest remains mostly the same. Bear in mind most of the work the devs have done since that time has been focused on refactoring and removing old code left behind from the MD version. Once they are done with that, the progress should speed up
