Notes disappear on Ubuntu laptop

Hi everyone. I’m really loving the move from Obsidian to Logsec. It works so much better for my scattered ADHD brain.

I’m having a major issue though - and since I can’t find many complaints about it in search I’m guessing it’s user error.

The problem is I imported a heap of existing MD entries. I created a simple script to change parts of folder titles to tags to simplify my notetaking system and allow it to work better in logseq. But a couple of these didnt turn out the way I’d planned. So I’ve used the search function, pulled up the relevant page and worked my way through the linked and unlinked references. I learned pretty quick that its best practice to put the new tags and links in prior to deleting and old ones so the whole note doesnt disappear. It’s not ideal but I can live with it.

The actual issue I’m having is that occasionally the note I’m working on just disappears. And the exact behaviour seems different each time. Sometimes I find that the note I was working on is way down the page and the cursor has just jumped some place random (maybe a short cut I’m bumping while typing and not aware of?)

But even worse, sometimes I’m typing and half or 3/4s of my entry just vanishes. Like deletes. Luckily I have backups but its time consuming to find and re add the exact bits that have gone.

I feel like this is almost definitely a short cut issue but I’m not sure what. I only use regular alphabet keys and shift so thinking any standard shortcut that is just shift and letter is pretty crazy to have on a journal style tool, but you never know. Or maybe something else I’m doing wrong?

Using Loseq on a Ubuntu laptop and also on android phone. I only have the main deleting issue on the laptop.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Do you have the graph open in two or more windows? I started to have really weird UI jumps as soon as I started doing this.

I don’t. But that’s good to know.

I actually don’t use the graph. Not sure if its a problem from the scripts I ran to import from obsidian, but I have either 3 nodes with 5 notes linked to them, or i turn on journal entries and i get hundreds of nodes and entries and can’t make sense of it.

Looks like maybe I need to manually link all my pages? I’m still used to obsidian so getting used to these differences slowly.

Definitely love the actually note taking experience way more though. Just need to work on how the data links and presents.

Do a test: create a new graph and add some pages and notes. This way you can narrow down the problem area.
