I’m a recent Logseq migrant from Roam and I have been using the Readwise plugin. It nicely gets the highlights, but does not get my annotations from the text (the notes as Readwise calls them). Is this a known problem? Thanks for any help here.

Yes, this feature is not available. I’ve stopped working on the plugin though as I understand Readwise is much closer to launching the official plugin so you may want to wait for that!
