I think there should be a way to create/open a “scratch” or “temporary” page. This page could then be used as a “worksheet” to work with nodes, or collection of nodes, queries, etc. I don’t think nodes should always be attached to or descend from a page; nodes should be able to live independently on their own. A worksheet could allow you to work with data, or visualize data, without necessarily committing you to that “view” forever (permanent page).
