Search results live preview

I had an idea for improving search in Logseq.

Instead of showing only a list of search results in a popup, the search window could become a two-panel layout:

  • left side → search results
  • right side → live preview of the currently selected result

The preview would update while navigating results with the keyboard (↑ ↓), without opening the page/block.

This could make searching much faster in large graphs by reducing:

  • open/back/open cycles
  • context switching
  • unnecessary navigation

The preview could show:

  • matched block
  • parent hierarchy
  • children
  • references / linked references

I think this would fit Logseq’s block-based workflow especially for keyboard-heavy users.
(AI generated post. Too lazy…)

prototyped it a few months ago
