Should encryption work for the desktop version?

I use version 0.2.3 (desktop client for Windows with local files) but when I turn on encryption, nothing happens. No password dialog and the files are still in plain text (even after reindexing).

Am I doing something wrong?

I think that encryption in broken since several versions ago. I opened a forum topic and also a GitHub issue and others commented having same problems but was being ignored by developers. So I think that encryption is un maintained and no one is using it?!

Thanks Zab for sharing this insight. In that case I will have a look at the release notes of new versions. May this feature will come back in the future.
