I have no time to waste on a website, waiting for it to “grant me access”, by reading and writing posts - it is annoying and counter-productive.
While I understand the need for “spam-control” it is gate-keepy and for a tool supposed to boost productivity, I just wasted 30min on a site that I do not want to participate in, other than asking my questions… I also get that some people want a community or that the makers of a tool need a community but come on, that’s not a productive use of my time …
initially, I had the idea to setup logseq together with zotero and sync (via nextcloud, seafile, dropbox) across devices - wasting 30min makes me question whether I should spend the time getting to know a tool that is probably amazing …
So, yeah - I don’t know. probably just venting as I really dis-like these websites - maybe others feel the same?
For now, I will probably log off, ignore logseq for a couple of days, unless someone replies to my rant (sorry again) …
Is it possible to get logseq do the following:
- Link to Zotero (done that) - but can I only add a single collection from Zotero, not my complete library - I am writing a phd, and have ten years of studies for two masters and two bachelors in zotero - it gets crowded, and most isn’t relevant for my phd …
- create whiteboards/notes for each zotero-entry and link them to chapter ideas that I might write (should be possible, I guess)
- add notes in handwritten form, other than whiteboard - I don’t necessarily need OCR (would be great, though)
I probably mis-used vocabulary here, since I am still learning the vocab …
again sorry for the rant - I just really don’t like unnecessary hurdles, especially when dealing with productivity
