I understand that either an underscore or an asterisk may be used to italicize text . I use underscores almost exclusively . I find that quite often, if I wrap a word with underscores, then shift focus out of what I’m editing (to see it go italic), it doesn’t display as italic, but shows the underscores; if I then wrap the same word instead with asterisks, it displays as italic, as expected
perhaps this could be an easy PR opportunity for someone willing to venture into the codebase? — I don’t know
but yeah, in short, the bug is: italicizing via underscores sometimes fails to render the text italic
