Here’s some feedback for a semi dead product:
- Don’t leave part of your customer base dangling in the wind without an update to a broken piece of software for 2 years.
- Stop ignoring customer requests for help when you refuse to update your product for 2 years on one platform and leave it at least 6 versions behind the other mobile platform.
- Don’t create a product and then just stop.
Logseq was interesting a couple years back. Now it’s turned into a semi dead product. The iOS app version has not been updated for 2 years and is currently 6 revisions behind the Android version and very buggy. That’s great you have moved on to the DB version, but how about trying to shore up what you already have out in the wild first.
I will answer the same thing I answered here iOS update. When? Been waiting forever - #10
The team is currently all in on building the iOS app for the DB version, as you can see with these PRs: enhance: native navigation && bottom sheet on iOS by tiensonqin · Pull Request #12225 · logseq/logseq · GitHub, fix: ios testflight invalid binary by tiensonqin · Pull Request #12608 · logseq/logseq · GitHub, and literally yesterday this one was merged fix: Improve iOS native navigation and graphs by tiensonqin · Pull Request #12679 · logseq/logseq · GitHub . You can imagine that working on 2 apps at the same time can be a bit of an issue, since they are currently managing 6 different applications, the DB desktop, DB android, DB iOS, and MD desktop, MD android, and MD iOS.
I think calling Logseq a “semi dead product” is a little non sensical when they are literally developing it day in and day out, every single day there are new PRs being opened and merged and new bugs being submitted and getting fixed
It is non sensical to call a product thats being developed every single day a “semi dead product”. Just because they stopped working on the particular side of the product that you need doesnt mean you get to call it dead as a whole.
Still, I understand your frustration and I empathize, but take into consideration the sheer volume of code that just one small team of 4 people is responsible for.
Also, there is no Kool aid here. I have been using the DB version of the app for a year now, and its the best PKM app I have ever used. I dont have time for software that doesnt do what I need it to do and that oversells its features, and the DB version is none of that. I encourage you to give it a try
You can download it through testflight Join the Logseq beta - TestFlight - Apple as you were told on discord
