My company (likes many other companies) has security policy that not allow users to install any software on work PCs. I did make a proposal to IT department to install Logseq but so far not approved.
I have just found out that I can use Logseq on company laptop without having to install it. My work PC runs Windows 11, Today, I visited to logseq.com on Edge, clicked Live Demo, then Add a graph, then Choose a folder. To my surprise, it let me select a folder on my hard drive. So far, it works ok, from time to time it has a little conflict between two versions of the Journals.
My question is, would I get into trouble if I keep using it this way? Is it a violation to company policy?
I don’t know if anyone can really say if your company would be happy with it. As far as I know online Logseq isn’t much different from going on a sketching website which stores your doodles on the computer rather than on the website’s servers
Maybe to help best option might be to ask but I can’t see it being a violation for most. It kind of depends why they put that restriction in place. You can probably do a lot of damage with online software that’s not installed but I expect you can only do so much.
So far, I am using Logseq without installation by accessing to Logseq: A privacy-first platform for knowledge management and collaboration . Though it has limitations but still very useful, meeting most of my needs. One of the limitation is I have to be online to start with. As it is working on Edge, I tried to save the webpage hoping it would work offline but it doesn’t.
Is there a way to save the webpage for offline use?
