Why do hierarchical tags sometimes create multiple partial tag references?

It only seems to happen sometimes but since you can’t delete from the Hierarchy section of the parent tag it’s annoying to have to visit each partial hierarchical tag to delete it.

For example if I make the following

#things/otherstuff

it will sometimes also produce

#things/o
#things/oth
#things/otherst

etc

Welcome. I’m guessing that the partial tags are created during editing. But should not bother visiting them. Just from time to time use the Remove orphaned pages? option at the top-right of All pages.

Hi, thanks. That’s a great function I didn’t know about. I did find out that by simply re-indexing they disappear.
