Why to use tags with spaces?

I am wonder that why we spouse to use #[[ tag with spaces]] and not just normal tags with - or _. is there any reason but aesthetically prefer?

Not just aesthetic. It’s also for readability. Especially when using hide “[[]]” settings, the tags will be inconspicuous.
