I recently saw Morgan Calendar has a plug-in for Obsidian tasks. It is fantastic to see markdown tasks being integrated into other platforms.
A few weeks ago, in the Discord channel, I inquired about Logseq introducing a native calendar within the new database version. I was told there were no plans. I also asked about third-party integrations, and there are no plans either.
I understand traditional notetakers may not see value in task and calendar integrations. However, calendar integrations are a central part of PKM systems, as evidenced by the other platforms prioritizing it. Logseq has the best task management system of all PKM systems on the market, but tasks are siloed within the software.
Logseq’s robust task management capabilities are seamlessly connected with notes. However, the lack of a native calendar is a missed opportunity, as tasks are static within the platform.
My comments won’t sway change, but hopefully, they will draw more profound attention to something that could ultimately strengthen the present and future Logseq versions.
Yes please - game changer for me! Confusing that they’re not considering that - not a programmer but assume that database configuration would make creation of native calendar fairly straightforward.
I would not get my hopes up that this will get implemented, afaik they have their hands full with the DB version and did not implement OS-specific features in the past.
You can, however use the API (or write to the markdown files) to build some of this yourself, i made the following (macOS only):
